After the LA Dodgers defeated the Boston Red Sox in a three-game series at home at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, third baseman Max Muncy of the Dodgers was seen spending some quality time with his children, Wyatt James Muncy and Sophie Kate.
On Monday, Kellie, Max’s wife, posted a number of touching photos of Muncy and their children inside Dodger Stadium on her Instagram account.
Kellie wrote, “Sunday Night Baseball post game field hangs with dada,” as the photo’s caption.
Since their undergraduate years, while Kellie was seeking a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and Max Muncy was playing D1 baseball, the two had been dating. In November of 2017, the same month that Muncy inked a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the couple got engaged.
On November 18, 2018, the pair spoke their vows at Piazza on the Green in McKinney, Texas, a year after they became engaged. On July 23, 2021, their first child, a daughter named Sophie Kate, was born. On April 24, 2023, they welcomed James Wyatt, their second child.
Max has been a baseball player for the Dodgers since 2018, and the family of four now resides in Los Angeles. With the Dodgers, he is a two-time All-Star and together they won the 2020 World Series. He hasn’t been able to participate in any team activities since May 17 due to an oblique strain.
There is still no clear schedule for Max Muncy to return to the Dodgers lineup. With Jason Heyward dominating in the series finale against the Red Sox on Sunday, the LA Dodgers are missing some A-list first-team players in the form of Max Muncy, Mookie Betts, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow.
Muncy is the most seriously injured player; his right oblique injury has prevented him from swinging on several occasions. Regarding a timetable for his comeback to the starting lineup, manager Dave Roberts stated:
On Thursday, Muncy participated in two sets of short toss. That’s progress, but I don’t think anyone still understands when that time to return is.Max Muncy began a light-hitting program, but there is still uncertainty around his impending return to the Dodgers lineup.
