Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout will be the talk of the town in Anaheim with spring training just a few weeks away. Additionally, he won’t have longtime All-Star Shohei Ohtani because the superstar recently signed with the LA Dodgers, his rival team across town.

Trout appears to be making good use of the offseason and savoring the peace before the MLB season starts.

Trout recently posted pictures of his son Beckham’s winter travels on Instagram. Beckham can be seen having fun and making patterns in the snow in the video. Trout believes he’s getting advice from his son to be ready for spring training.

He captioned the photo, saying, “I think B is telling me he’s ready for @angels Spring Training.”

In 2024, will Mike Trout be traded?

The idea that the Angels would cut ways with two of its perennial players this winter was highly anticipated. With Ohtani departing the team in free agency and the Angels’ roster looking thin, it was thought the team might try a trade for Mike Trout as part of a major revamp.

But this offseason hasn’t been great for the Angels either. They haven’t traded Trout for prospects or made a huge expenditure to get All-Star talent.

There were rumors circulating earlier in the offseason that the Toronto Blue Jays, having missed out on Ohtani, were considering a trade for him. But the rumors were put to rest when the Angels front staff declined to deal him this winter.

Trout has sustained multiple injuries throughout the years, which have caused issues for the team. Still, he’s one of the best sluggers in the game when healthy.

At least by his high standards, he had a disappointing season the previous year, but they are hoping that he will improve this year. In 82 games, Trout hit.262 with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs.

Mike Trout agreed to a 12-year, $426.5 million contract back in 2019. This implies that for the following seven seasons, the former MVP will still be owed more than $37 million. The club must determine if they should hold out for the future or make the most of his skills.
