Aaron Judge, the captain of the New York Yankees, has given Shohei Ohtani a lot of credit for his season-long play since he returned from Tommy John surgery. Judge and Ohtani were selected to be on the MLB All-Star teams for the American League and National League, respectively, based on their play in the first half of the season.
Tuesday night during the 2024 All-Star Game. Judge gave Ohtani credit for his performance as a whole and his perseverance in the game despite his return to action after Tommy John surgery.
“You know, what he accomplishes year after year is really amazing. Even with his recovery from Tommy John surgery and his batting average of.316 and nearly 30 home runs so far this season, it is impressive what he has accomplished. It truly is amazing.”
The Japanese made history shortly after Judge complimented Ohtani. He became the first LA Dodgers star to hit a 400-foot home bomb toward right field in an All-Star Game since Hall of Famer Mike Piazza in the Midsummer Classic of 1996.
With his new side, the $700 million star has been amazing. It appears he is making up for his inability to pitch due to his Tommy John surgery recovery with his amazing batting ability. He has a batting average of.316, an OPS of 1.036, 29 home runs, and 69 RBIs through the first half of the season.
Shohei Ohtani considers his performance in MLB ASG 2024 and feels “relieved” after hitting the 400-foot dinger.
Opening up about his performance in Tuesday’s Globe Life Field, Texas, All-sensation Game was Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani was relieved to hit the home run and support his team, even if he wasn’t quite satisfied with his performance throughout the game.
“I haven’t really batted good during the All-Star Game in general. Therefore, he stated, “I’m just relieved that I put a good ball in play.”Aside from that one home run in the third inning, it wasn’t his night. The two-way sensation only managed one run and one home run in two at-bats, along with three RBI, a.500 batting average, and an.667 OPS. The final score between the AL and NL teams was 5-3.
