Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and More Unveil Dodgers’ Funniest Teammate in Group Chat Banter

For the Midsummer Classic, the Dodgers All-Stars, which included Tyler Glasnow, Teoscar Hernández, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, and Shohei Ohtani, traveled to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Freeman and Smith will start the All-Star game on Tuesday as reserves, while Ohtani and Hernández are scheduled to start.

The five players were asked to identify their funniest Dodgers teammate in a group chat during a video shoot that was done inside the ballpark.

Ohtani, the starting designated hitter for the ASG, began by saying:

“Kike Hernandez. He’s a funny guy all the time.”First baseman Freeman then made a “shocking” selection:

“The most humorous? This is going to surprise a lot of people. I plan to accompany Daniel Hudson. He is quite sardonic and frequently uses one-liners. Yes. Daniel Hudson is a cunning and witty person.

Then, catcher Will Smith came to the fore as he answered:

“Whose team group chat is the funniest? Most likely Miggy. Miguel Rojas, aka Miggy Ro. Why? He’s just a humorous person.Hernández, the MLB Home Run Derby winner in 2024, had two responses:

“There are two. I’m going to mention Kike and Miggy. They constantly strive to ensure that everyone is happy, comfortable, and having a wonderful time.”Finally, it was time for veteran starting pitcher Glasnow to reply:

“Kike [Hernandez] most likely, simply because he is a funny guy and will say anything.” Yes, most likely, Kike. Moreover, Miggy [Rojas] is a hilarious person.”

The Dodgers are sending at least five All-Stars to the Midsummer Classic for the fifth consecutive year.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Dodgers will send at least five All-Stars to the Midsummer Classic. This year, only the Philadelphia Phillies had seven more choices to the All-Star team.

Ohtani (DH) and Hernández (OF), who were selected in the National League starting lineup for Tuesday’s game, will be the center of attention. Smith, Freeman, and Mookie Betts are the available players; however, Betts may not participate in the game because of a fractured left hand. Glasnow is sidelined in the interim due to a back strain.
