The batters for the Philadelphia Phillies derail Los Angeles Dodgers starter Bobby Miller. In just four innings of the series, Miller gave the Phillies a 9-0 lead against his side.
Brandon Marsh scored on an RBI single by Rafael Marchán in the second inning to set the ball rolling for Miller. He also gifted Kyle Schwarber a two-run single in the same inning. The Phillies now lead the Dodgers 3-0 as a result of this.
Johan Rojas singled against Miller in the fourth inning, allowing Brandon Marsh to score once more. Following this, Trea Turner hit a grand slam to bring the score to 4 runs, dealing Miller a blow. Miller continued to struggle after that, hitting a solo home run off Bryson Stott in the fourth inning.
Yohan Ramírez replaced Miller in the bottom fifth, and the fans expressed their displeasure on X (previously Twitter):
“Give him a few starts in AAA needs to throw strikes, he’ll learn from this,” a fan said.
“HORRIBLE,” said one more admirer.
Regarding Bobby Miller’s performance against the Phillies, a few more fans felt the same way.
“A.A. He requires a complete restart. both physically and mentally,” an admirer remarked. Not an ace of the future. At best, he will start three or four games during his career. He’s never been consistent, so maybe it’s time to move on,” one fan suggested.”Time to trade him, need to get a pitcher that’s ready to win now and miller still has trade value,” a fan commented.
One fan predicted, “Well, he’ll probably end up on IL by the end of the week!”Bobby Miller experienced a wild season while playing for the
Bobby Miller shut out six innings on March 29th to dominate the St. Louis Cardinals. It appeared that a breakout season was imminent with 11 strikeouts and only one walk.
Impressive stats for him included 6 IP, 0 ER, 11 K, and 1 BB. With a start like that, Miller showed the Dodgers how strong he was. Miller’s next two starts, though, went horribly wrong.
Struggling to find the strike zone, he gave up seven earned runs in just 5.2 innings. Then he was totally sidelined for two months due to an injury. Thus, Miller was once more given the chance to start against the Phillies as a starting pitcher following Tyler Glasnow’s addition to the injured list.
Not everything went according to plan, as Miller ended up having the worst start of his career in today’s game. Thus, the ongoing challenges faced by the Dodgers’ starting pitchers become even more concerning.
