Gray throws a two-hit game across five innings, while Langford smacks a grand slam to propel the Texas Rangers past the Kansas City Royals with a score of 6-0

Jon Gray rebounded from his roughest MLB performance by allowing just two hits over five innings, aiding the Texas Rangers in their 6-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Wyatt Langford clinched the win with a grand slam in the eighth inning.

After conceding nine earned runs and 11 hits in his previous outing, Gray threw 51 of 72 pitches for strikes against the Royals.

“Terrific job. Good stuff,” said Rangers manager Bruce Bochy about Gray’s performance. “It’s good to see him back on track.”

Langford, a rookie who returned in May after a hamstring injury, hit his first career grand slam off a 2-2 slider from Angel Zerpa. Since his return, he has been batting .299 with 18 RBIs.

“That was pretty cool,” Langford said about his grand slam. “I even forgot it was a grand slam.”

The Texas Rangers, now on a three-game winning streak following a five-game losing streak, have scored at least five runs in four consecutive games for the first time this season.

Kansas City struggled offensively, recording only three hits, and has lost 10 of its last 13 games, scoring just 36 runs in those contests.

Josh Smith hit a solo home run in the fourth inning off Michael Wacha (4-6), and Adolis García added an RBI groundout in the eighth inning. Rangers pitchers Jacob Latz, David Robertson, and Brock Burke combined to limit the Royals to just three hits, securing only the third shutout against Kansas City this season.Có thể là hình ảnh về 4 người và văn bản

The Royals went 17 consecutive batters without reaching base from the third inning until pinch-hitter Nelson Velázquez singled with one out in the ninth inning.
