Nikola Jokić, the Denver Nuggets center, has been selected for Serbia’s preliminary squad for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The initial roster of 16 players was announced recently, with final team selections to be confirmed closer to the tournament’s commencement. Jokić previously competed in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where he secured a silver medal with Serbia, finishing as runners-up to the United States in the men’s final.
As Serbia prepares for Paris 2024, they aim to improve upon their previous performance, with other NBA players like Bogdan Bogdanović from the Atlanta Hawks and Vasilije Micić from the Charlotte Hawks also included in the squad.
Serbia’s opening match in the Paris 2024 tournament will mirror the Rio 2016 gold medal showdown, as they face off against the United States on 28 July 2024 at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille.
