Gordon was shocked when he glimpsed his date’s Google search.
“What’s a king without a queen?” That’s the rhetorical question Aaron Gordon asked Denver Nuggets teammate Michael Porter Jr. on a recent episode of the latter’s podcast. Does that mean Gordon is ready to settle down? Probably, if he has met the right one.
With the discussion having shifted towards relationships and how difficult it is to meet a female they can trust, AG revealed to Porter he once went out on a date with someone who appeared to be deeply interested in how much he had earned.
“I went out on a date with this girl one time,” he said. “I forget where we were going, might have been in Chicago or something like that. We went out on a date. I got to the spot. We were sitting at the bar, waiting for our table, getting drinks, whatever. She opened up her phone. The last thing she had on her phone was ‘Aaron Gordon’s net worth.’ … I was like, ‘This is wild, yo.'”
The nature of the beast
It’s safe to say that the Nuggets champ isn’t the only NBA player to have experienced going out with someone who has researched their career earnings. However, catching the woman in the act probably doesn’t happen too often.
That’s perhaps part of the business that most players have to deal with. After all, earning millions annually might be attractive for some girls. Does that mean they’re only after the money? Who are we to judge? But players might want to be careful about the people they meet.
What’s Gordon’s net worth?
A quick Google search shows that the former No. 4 picks’ total assets are valued at around $24 million. Interestingly, that’s nearly how much he earns yearly, based on the contract extension he signed with Denver two years ago.
Given that Gordon’s contract already had an annual value of more than $20 million when he was still with the Orlando Magic, one might think he should be worth more than $24 million by now. However, several factors have played a role in why his net worth isn’t as high as expected. These include taxes, agent’s fees, and, of course, his expenses. He probably shelled out a lot for his Denver house, which is every hooper’s biggest dream.
