The Texas Rangers were limited to one or fewer runs for the 10th time this season in a 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Monday.
Jake Rogers hit two solo home runs, including a go-ahead, two-out shot off Jose Leclerc, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Monday night at Globe Life Field.
In the ninth inning, Ezequiel Duran doubled to the right-field corner with two outs, but Leody Taveras was unable to bring him home.

Eovaldi limited the Tigers to one run on three hits and struck out seven over 5.2 innings.
Tarik Skubal (7-1) allowed one run (Marcus Semien’s solo homer) on seven hits and two walks over six innings, striking out six.

Three thoughts from Monday’s game:
1. Marcus Semien Leads It Off
Marcus Semien hit a home run to lead off a game for the fourth time in 2024 and the 28th time in his career. This achievement ties him for 25th place all-time and ranks him seventh among active players. Among his leadoff homers, 16 have been hit as a Ranger, placing him third in club history behind Ian Kinsler (29) and Shin-Soo Choo (25).
2. Seager Keeps It Going
Corey Seager continued his impressive performance by extending his hit streak to 16 games, the longest on the team, with two singles on Monday. Moreover, he has reached base in 26 consecutive games, leading the club in this regard as well. This hit streak marks the second-longest of his career, with his longest being a 19-game streak during his time with the Dodgers in 2016. Notably, Seager’s current streak stands as the longest active streak in MLB. Additionally, he tied his career-best streak of reaching base in 26 consecutive games, a feat he previously achieved last summer.Dane Dunning (4-3, 3.94) is the expected starter for the Rangers against Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty (2-4, 3.46) at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. The Rangers had no officially announced starting pitchers for Tuesday or Wednesday when Monday’s game started.
