Anthony Edwards stunned by dominant Nikola Jokic’s performance: ‘I just laugh’

In Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinal series, Nikola Jokic marked his third MVP trophy ceremony by delivering an exceptional performance. The Denver Nuggets, playing on their home court, secured a 112-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Jokic leading the charge. Demonstrating his incredible skills, Jokic not only scored an impressive 40 points but also distributed 13 assists without committing a single turnover.

After losing the first two games at home, the Denver Nuggets have taken control of the best-of-seven series, leading 3-2. The next game, Game 6, is scheduled for Thursday night in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards, the All-Star guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, faced difficulties on the court. He struggled with his shooting, finishing 5 for 15 and scoring a total of 18 points. However, he did contribute with nine assists.

Before the game began, Nikola Jokic was honored with his MVP trophy by NBA commissioner Adam Silver. Jokic continued his dominance in the third quarter, making a hook shot, converting two three-point plays, and sinking two free throws. This remarkable performance allowed Denver to extend their lead to 88-74 heading into the fourth quarter.

In the third quarter, Jokic had an impressive scoring spree, accumulating 16 points by making six out of seven shots. On the other hand, Edwards struggled in the first half, attempting only eight shots and converting just one. Additionally, he went over seven minutes into the third quarter without taking a single shot.

When questioned by the media about Jokic’s outstanding performance in the third quarter, Edwards couldn’t hide his admiration and emotions towards the Serbian center.

“That’s all I can do. I can’t be mad. Because he’s good, man. I said that after Game 1 that we won, and Game 2. He’s the MVP, the best player in the NBA,” Edwards continued.

“He showed it in the last three games in a row and tonight. He was special tonight. I have to give him his flowers. I don’t know what we were supposed to do. He was that guy tonight,” Edwards commented.
