Texas Rangers shatter record with $2.5 million haul at grand-slam gala

Texas Rangers players, staff, and supporters came together for the 2024 TEX Gala, held on Monday, April 22 at Globe Life Field, which was transformed into a State Fair-themed extravaganza. With the outfield turf adorned with the sights, sounds, and flavors of the fair, around 1,500 attendees gathered to show their support for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

The event kicked off with a VIP Reception, sponsored by American Airlines, in the American Lounge. Attendees had the opportunity to mingle with National Baseball Hall of Famer Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez, who was honored with his World Series Championship Ring during the reception.

Among the VIPs were prominent Rangers stars accompanied by their guests, including World Series MVP Corey Seager and Mady Seager, Max Scherzer and Erica Scherzer, Nathaniel Lowe and Brenna Karwich, and many more. The evening promised a glamorous lineup of activities and entertainment.

As the gates to the West Marketplace opened, guests were treated to cocktails and carnival-style games on a replica State Fair Midway set up on the field. Mini corn dogs and funnel cakes were savored alongside signature cocktails like the Neon Moon and Red Dirt Road. Attendees engaged in classic fair games, visited the Flea Style custom hat bar, and indulged in Kendra Scott mystery boxes while bidding on items at the silent auction, including autographed memorabilia, music, and Hollywood collectibles.

During a sumptuous seated dinner featuring Braised Black Angus Teres Major steak and Creme Brulee with Bailey’s Mousse, guests learned more about the Texas Rangers Foundation through a brief video presentation. The charitable organization’s impact on youth, education, community, and military initiatives was highlighted by Rangers chairman Neil Leibman and foundation executive director Karin Morris.

The fundraising momentum continued with spirited activities such as “Heads or Tails” and a live auction offering luxury getaways and VIP experiences. Country music sensation Pat Green made a surprise appearance, auctioning off a private concert to the enthusiastic crowd.

By the end of the evening, the 2024 TEX Gala had raised an impressive record-breaking $2.5 million for the Texas Rangers Foundation, underscoring the generosity and commitment of the Rangers community.

To conclude the festivities, guests enjoyed a private concert by the legendary country music duo Brooks & Dunn, who kept the crowd entertained with an hour-long performance of their greatest hits. The evening was a testament to the success and impact of the TEX Gala, which has raised nearly $8 million since its inception in 2021 for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.
