“Back together 13 years later” – Former Braves WAG Chelsea Shared Freddie Freeman and Jason Heyward’s Epic Reunion with Heartwarming SI Throwback Cover

Jason Heyward has a long history with Freddie Freeman. The Atlanta Braves selected Heyward with the 14th pick and Freeman with the 78th choice in the 2007 MLB draft. When Heyward joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in December 2022, the two were reunited after being parted when the Braves traded him to the St. Louis Cardinals in November 2014.

It has been 13 years since the two players were on the cover of Sports Illustrated, back in 2011, as noted by Freeman’s wife, Chelsea. Happy that the two athletes are playing for the same team in 2024, she posted a picture of the magazine’s cover on her Instagram story:

“Also… love when life comes full circle and these two are back together 13 years later.”

The pair had a wonderful start to the new year after a successful conclusion to 2023.

When the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani to a $700 million contract, Chelsea Freeman was ecstatic. She celebrated the deal by sharing images of her clothing line’s new items on Instagram, showing her excitement for the 2024 MLB season.

Now that even more players have joined the Dodgers since then, Freeman is probably counting down the minutes till Opening Day. In addition to acquiring Ohtani, LA has also agreed to terms with Teoscar Hernández, signed Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and traded for and extended Tyler Glasnow.

Chelsea and Freddie Freeman will be hopeful that the Dodgers can win it all this year, as the team is currently loaded for a run at the World Series in 2024.
