Anthony Rendon, a third baseman with the Los Angeles Angels, is having a very bad start to the 2024 MLB season. Disgruntled Halo supporters are calling for his removal from the starting lineup because they’ve had enough of him. After beating the Miami Marlins on Monday, the Los Angeles team now has a 2-2 record for the season; nevertheless, the infielder hasn’t done much to help the squad.

In his first three games, the 33-year-old had not registered a hit in 14 at-bats, and the team’s supporters had already given up on him, demanding that he be benched on social media.

On Twitter, one fan said, “Cut him and move on.” Another said, “I’d rather pay him to not be on this team.”

One of the best prospects chosen by the Washington Nationals in the 2011 MLB Draft, Anthony Rendon made his main league debut for the team in 2013. The infielder played for the Nationals for the next six years, solidifying his position on the team and developing into a respectable hitter. He won multiple individual honors while there and participated in their 2019 World Series victory.

Rendon inked a seven-year, $245 million contract with the Angels after becoming a free agent in 2019. The infielder has been a member of the Angels lineup since then, despite experiencing some injury issues, but has, for the most part, fallen short of expectations.

He has not had the kind of start to his 2024 season, having gone through his first three games without a hit. Even though he has always been a sluggish starter, a lot of Angels supporters are already worried, with some even thinking that his greatest days are behind him.

Their most recent loss was the first in franchise history that they have dropped the first five games of the MLB season after being swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates in their four-game opening series.
