Like teammate Stephen Strasburg, Anthony Rendon is a self-proclaimed introvert who would forego all press events if it weren’t a required part of his job, even though he is a crucial player in leading the Angels through the World Series for the first time in franchise history.
As a result, hardly much is known about Amanda Rodriguez Rendon, Rendon’s wife. Similar to her spouse, she avoids the limelight and does not have any social media accounts. On November 25, 2017, Anthony and Amanda tied the knot at the Corinthian in Houston, Texas, the home of the MVP candidate. In a strange turn of events, Rendon’s first World Series has forced him to return to his cherished hometown to play against the team he has always looked up to.
The Rendons currently reside in the Washington region, although they make trips back to Houston in the off-season to visit friends and relatives. Rendon has a tight relationship with his parents, Rene and Bridget Rendon, as well as his brother David. Additionally, he established the following guideline for his visits home: Don’t bring up baseball.
Rendon has played ball in Washington, D.C., his whole professional career, much like Strasburg and Ryan Zimmerman. After signing a $7.2 million contract and being selected sixth overall in the 2011 draft out of Rice College, he has been a member of the Nationals’ playing roster ever since.
In 2014, Rendon stated to The Washington Post, “My parents are introverted individuals who prefer to be by themselves.” They remain silent. They taught me early on not to take pride in our accomplishments. My faith also tells me not to brag about anything good that comes your way. You have all that the Lord has given you. It’s simply having my wits about me and being modest and humble about everything.
Anthony Rendon and Amanda Possess a single daughter, Emma Kate
While the Rendons don’t often release pictures of their first child, Emma Kate, to the public, they do so on occasion for a specific reason. Emma Kate was born on July 25, 2018. Rendon and his family only cheerfully participate in media events that benefit charities.
Amanda took Emma to Nationals Park for a special purpose one month after Emma was born. In order to help sell the Dream Foundations surprise packages, Amanda went to hang out with the wives of former Nationals player Bryce Harper’s wife, Kayla Varner, and Max Scherzer’s wife, Erica, while Emma wore a cute baby-sized Nationals jersey with a large red bow in her hair.
Additionally, Rendon and Amanda serve as representatives for Baseball for Babies, an organization that raises awareness of premature births. Before having children, the couple was active with the organization, and they felt an even stronger connection to the foundation following Emma’s two-month early birth.
