Warriors beat LeBron James and the Lakers 128-121 thanks to Steph Curry in rematch

On Saturday night, the Warriors of Golden State prevailed against the Lakers of Los Angeles, 128-121. Superstar Steph Curry, who had been out for three games due to an ankle ailment, will start for the Warriors in this Western Conference matchup between the ninth and tenth seeds. With the win, the Dubs raised their season record to 35–31, drawing even with the Lakers for ninth place in the NBA playoffs.

In addition to his 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, Curry also tied the older Akron native for the team lead. Thanks to the contributions of Jonathan Kuminga (23 points) and Klay Thompson (26 points off the bench), Curry was able to secure the victory. Draymond Green may have only scored six points, but he was a total chaos with twelve boards and thirteen assists for the Warriors.

While Curry’s final stat line was amazing, he went scoreless in the first quarter. Although the Lakers took advantage of Steph Curry’s poor play to lead for most of the first half, they were unable to extend their lead.

Kuminga wasted nо time getting gоing, making fоur early jump baskets tо put the game away. The bench cоntributiоns оf Thоmpsоn and Trayce Jacksоn-Davis were alsо crucial in keeping the team cоnsistent until Curry’s оffensive explоsiоns.

Once Steph Curry got going, the Warriors dominated the game and maintained a lead for the most of the second half. In the fourth quarter, James kept the game tight by closing the gap to four points in the last minutes. But a hilarious video review and shot clock glitch ruined whatever momentum either team had going into the last two minutes of regulation, extending the game by more than 20 minutes in real time.

After a day off, the Warriors will head back to the Chase Center to meet the New York Knicks in their next game. Our first game will begin at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.
