LeBron James is involved in yet another dismantling.
No, not of an NBA team, but of James’s and his family’s $37 million Beverly Hills, California estate.
Supposedly, the 38-year-old celebrity has chosen to demolish the lovely mansion and construct his “dream home” anew, as reported by Front Office Sports. House Beautiful offered a comprehensive tour of the 13,000-square-foot Spanish Mission-style residence that James bought in 2020.
James began the legal process to acquire building licenses to reconstruct on the 2.5-acre lot three years ago. The property reportedly had a pool, a pool house, tennis courts, and one of the biggest driveway gates in Los Angeles.
The property had eight bathrooms, four bedrooms, a screening room, a trophy room, a breakfast terrace with a teal-tiled fountain, seven fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, and four bedrooms before it was demolished, according to House Beautiful. No one knows for sure what LeBron James’ new house will look like, but rumors have it that the four-time NBA champion wants to remove the ornate bronze sculptures that encircled the property in favor of something more modern. His other two houses, a 12,000 square foot estate in Miami and his main house in Brentwood, California, also showcase this modern style with minimalist decor and all-white interiors.
When the time comes for James to retire from the NBA, this rebuilt home will most certainly be the site of his ceremony, regardless of the outcome. Despite James’ public retirement talk following the May Western Conference Finals loss of the Los Angeles Lakers to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets, he is still largely anticipated to return for his 21st season this coming fall.
Even though the Lakers retooled their team around superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the midseason trade deadline, new rumors circulating following their elimination from the playoffs indicate they are maintaining a similar roster.
