Ayesha Curry’s inventive cooking for her husband Steph Curry before her careers as a cookbook author and restaurant owner.
The 34-year-old founder of Sweet July, who is expecting their fourth child together, spoke to Andy Cohen and Awkwafina on Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live about the very first meal she ever cooked for Steph, 35. In 2011, Ayesha and Steph tied the knot after meeting as teenagers in a youth group at their Charlotte, N.C. church.
She elaborated by saying that a Southern seasoning that Steph’s father “randomly” handed her years ago served as an inspiration. “I cooked some chicken with that and some rice and asparagus,” the star of the upcoming Netflix movie Irish Wish remarked.Several years later, Ayesha shared her story of another first-time cooking experience on WWHL. On President’s Day in 2019, she remembered, Barack Obama dined at International Smoke, her restaurant in San Francisco.
“It was all very nerve-wracking,” she said while laughing.

The happy couple shared the news of their impending parenthood in the March 1 cover story of Ayesha’s Sweet July Magazine.
She said in a letter that was published on the Sweet July site that she and Stephen had “thought we were done” for a long time. When it came to three, we decided it was enough and wouldn’t do it again. After that, we exchanged glances and decided to do it all over again last year.
Riley, 11, and Ryan, 8, and a boy, Canon, 5, are already members of the couple’s family.
