Before Tuesday’s game between his current Dodgers and his previous team, the Angels, Shohei Ohtani mingled with his old colleagues.
After inking a $700 million, 10-year deal with the Dodgers, Ohtani claimed it wasn’t strange to see his former team again.
It was great to see so many of the lads today; I was able to reconnect with several of them. They were quite accommodating. There were a lot of congrats. Their joy is contagious. Since it is what it is, I didn’t find it particularly strange or unpleasant. It could have turned out differently if I had played at the Angels’ home.To see their friend and congratulate him on all of his recent achievements, many Angels regulars, such as Taylor Ward, Brandon Drury, Logan O’Hoppe, Zach Neto, and Matt Thaiss, traveled from Tempe to Glendale.
He аccоmplished а greаt deаl during his six yeаrs here. Meeting him оver there wаs certаinly аn experience in аnd оf itself. Everything thаt trаnspired during the winter, including the mаrriаge, the cоntrаct, аnd everything else, wаs sоmething thаt I simply wаnted tо cоngrаtulаte him оn.The Dodgers and Angels will not face each other in Cactus League play, but upon the Dodgers’ return from South Korea, they will meet for the annual Freeway Series exhibition series.
On March 26, the team’s last spring training game of the season, Ohtani will make his Angel Stadium debut as a visiting player.
