Slugger Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels is coming off one of his worst seasons ever. Following a swing in July that fractured a portion of his hamate bone, he was only able to play in 82 games last season.

Trout hit.263/.367/.490 through 82 games, with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs. The slash line from last year was the lowest of his career, excluding his rookie campaign in 2011.

But he’s moving on from the 2023 season and concentrating on the upcoming year. He doubled against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday to kick off the new spring season, and he intends to continue.
