In other Dodgers news, Shohei Ohtani is getting close to a full-swinging bat

The signing of Shohei Ohtani by the Los Angeles Dodgers was a tremendous coup, but the team has yet to experience the full impact of the two-way superstar’s play.

Ohtani will miss the 2024 season as he continues to heal from surgery on his right elbow that he had last September. Some have said it’s a second Tommy John procedure, but Ohtani and agent Nez Balelo have denied (without providing evidence) that this is the case.

The 29-year-old is still in the midst of his rehabilitation, but he has made enough progress to anticipate starting for the Dodgers on Opening Day.

In terms of effort level, Ohtani claimed his swing was nearly perfect. Regarding that, it is correct. I need to face some velo from the machine or live arms next.

Hits off of pitching machine by Shohei OhtaniOhtani stated that hitting flips had been the extent of his batwork throughout winter exercises up until he and the other position players reported early for the start of Dodgers Spring Training.

Ohtani soon changed that at Camelback Ranch when he started taking slower swings against a pitching machine.
