In preparation for the spring training with a reshuffled roster that includes Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, Marcus Stroman, and others, the Yankees’ equipment trucks have already made their way south along Interstate 95.

It appears like the Bombers have finished their offseason work, while general manager Brian Cashman is still willing to consider upgrades that could make sense before Opening Day.

Since the Orioles acquired right-hander Corbin Burnes from the Brewers on Thursday, the topic of whether they have adequately addressed their weaknesses has been raised.

“That was my initial thought; it could be a minor issue,” manager Aaron Boone stated. Going to a fantastic team is no surprise since [Burnes is] a fantastic pitcher. He’ll be a major presence, and we’re excited for the chance to compete with the top.

The 29-year-old right-hander locked up with Gerrit Cole with a strong outing last Sept. 10 at Yankee Stadium, so Boone didn’t need a reminder of the Yanks’ last look at him.

A 4-3 Yankees victory was secured by Kyle Higashioka’s 13th-inning double after Burnes threw eight scoreless innings in contrast to Cole’s seven shutout frames.

The Bronx game was a good one for him, so maybe we can turn the tables on him a bit as well, Boone added.

In January, the Yankees cut ties with National League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, who had been offered a six-year, $150 million contract, in favor of a two-year, $37 million deal with Stroman.

Cоle аnԀ Strоmаn will be jоineԀ by Cаrlоs RоԀón, Nestоr Cоrtes, аnԀ Clаrke SchmiԀt in the rоtаtiоn, which nоw seems tо be estаblisheԀ.

Stroman possesses “some good stuff,” catcher Jose Trevino remarked. It seems like it will be a nice little combination based on my conversations with catchers who have landed him and their insights; they’ve provided me with some useful information. “I can’t wait!”

According to Austin Wells, who lives in Florida, working out with Stroman at the Yankees’ Tampa complex has been a pleasure, and the staff is looking forward to great things.

“Almost everyone is down there working right now,” Wells stated. It appears like everyone is in good health and able to handle themselves. In my opinion, the Yankees’ pitching staff will have a fantastic season.

In addition to Cody Poteet, Will Warren, Luis Gil, and Clayton Beeter, there are several depth alternatives.

According to Boone, “I think we’re going to be really good” when it comes to health. “However, we are officially in the month of February. A long journey still lies ahead of us. I’m thrilled about the depth we’ve added and the guys that are making strides. Particularly Carlos and Nestor, who are returning after ιnjury-plagued seasons, could us all. that winters that guys are experiencing are really exciting.

“We gotta go get it done if we want it to be good, but we think it has potential.”
