”We’re not friends or anything, just business partners” Shohei Ohtani Delivers Amusing Evaluation of His Connection with Ippei Mizuhara

The newest star for the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, has a close bond with Ippei Mizuhara, who serves as his interpreter. In a recent interview at Dodgers Fest, the two-way phenomenon was questioned about the evolution of his relationship with Mizuhara. The celebrity answered the query in a clever way.

“How did your friendship with Ippei come about? Tell us quickly how all of it came to be. The interviewer at “Dodger Fest” questioned Ohtani, “And now it has to be you answering and he can interpret your answer.”

Indeed, we have no friendship whatsoever. We are merely business associates,” Ohtani shot back, grinning at his own joke.

In addition, Ohtani was questioned about his reaction to the environment as he made his Dodger Fest debut in front of ardent supporters.

“I’ve never been in front of so many Dodgers fans while wearing a Dodgers jersey. It’s an amazing sensation. I’m excited,” Ohtani remarked.

Ohtani also expressed his belief that Dodgers supporters are fervent and eager for what is ahead.

The translator for Shohei Ohtani once mentioned how close friends and family of the Dodgers star ask him about developments.

Ippei Mizuhara, Shohei Ohtani’s translator, discussed how he receives regular updates on Ohtani’s life from Ohtani’s inner circle in a 2018 interview with Mark Gubicza. In addition, he expressed his belief that the two-way sensation would succeed in the future due to his talent and eventual on-field success.

“Well, I get a lot of messages from Japan from people that are around Shohei, like his parents, some sponsors seeing how he’s doing and stuff, so every time he does well on the field, I usually get 15 to 20 texts,” Mizuhara explained.

“I knew he had the talent because I watched him for five years,” Mizuhara continued.

On March 20, Shohei Ohtani will play in his first Dodger game when the team takes on the San Diego Padres of the National League at South Korea’s Gocheok Sky Dome.
