Neither does Shohei Ohtani often appear in public to make remarks to the press. Sarah Valenzuela, a reporter for Major League Baseball, recently discussed her encounter with the Los Angeles Angels’ management during an interview with Shotime.

Valenzuela said on the Foul Territory podcast that management denied her request, citing Ohtani’s lack of public appearances as the reason. Additionally, she included the initial message conveyed to her by the Halos group:

“Ohtani doesn’t really do one-on-ones,” was one of the first guidelines that was revealed to me. Stay away from him.

After leaving the NPB, Ohtani spent six years in Anaheim with the Los Angeles Angels. This offseason, the two-time AL MVP inked the largest contract in team history with the Los Angeles Dodgers, committing him to a decade with the Los Angeles franchise. After seeing his Japanese buddy join the Dodgers, Yoshinobu Yamamoto decided to do the same.
