For an extended period, Trevor Bauer has been one of the MLB’s most divisive and vocal players. Before all of the events of the last few years, including the relocation to Japan and the ᴍᴏʟᴇsᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴄᴏɴᴠɪᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, Bauer was considered somewhat of a “bad boy” in the MLB.
Throughout his career, Trevor Bauer faced a great deal of criticism despite his talent. From his media interviews to his now-famous ball-throwing over the center field fence out of irritation, Bauer hasn’t seemed to be able to stay out of the limelight during his career.

Still, a lot of people considered Bauer to be a fan favorite. Whether it was his competitive demeanor, his shenanigans, or his charm, the former Cy Young Award winner seems to resonate with a lot of fans. As a result, the star pitcher participated in an AMA with Bleacher Report in 2020 and responded to several queries.
The pitcher was questioned on a wide range of subjects, but the Houston Astros and their notorious sign-stealing incident were among the most fascinating. Bauer gave this straightforward response when asked if he heard garbage cans hitting during his pitching versus Houston:
“I have no recollection of it at all.”
Trevor Bauer provided additional details about his time spent pitching for the Cleveland Guardians, which is worth mentioning. The former All-Star claimed that during a pitching session, he is so focused on the job at hand that he hardly pays attention to anything else. This might have been the cause of the noise he heard coming from the trash cans, or it might have just not happened while he was on the mound.
After that, Trevor Bauer repeatedly made fun of the Houston Astros for pounding garbage cans.
Despite claiming to have no memory of the Houston Astros slamming trash cans while he was pitching against them during the Q&A, he continued to make jokes about the incident.

The contentious pitcher posted a video on social media featuring the Houston Astros hitting home runs while Phil Collins’ song “In the Air Tonight” played in the background. Another instance of Bauer mocking the Astros was when the pitcher donned trash can-covered bespoke cleats.
