A lot of Korean fans root for the Dodgers and the Padres. Park Chan-ho, a former pitcher for the Dodgers, made history 30 years ago as the first South Korean to play in a Major League Baseball game. Ryu Hyun-jin, a left-handed pitcher from South Korea, was a major league leader in ERA and runner-up in voting for the National League Cy Young Award in 2019, capping up a seven-year stint with the Los Angeles team.

Kim Ha-seong, the first Asian infielder to earn a Gold Glove in 2023, and Go Woo-suk, the former LG Twins closer who just inked a two-year deal with San Diego, are both South Korean athletes that the Padres are currently carrying.

Roh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles, who finished second in the 2023 KBO MVP voting, and Kim Hye-seong of the Heroes, a defensive wҺiz at second base who will be posted to MLB clubs after the 2024 season, are two of the most promising young players in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) and are expected to be part of the South Korean national team.

The national team manager and roster will be finalized by the KBO early next month.
