Shohei Ohtani is undeniably a talent of a generational scale who has altered the perspective of many baseball fans. From his skill to the enthusiasm he instills in the sport, no one compares.

The signing of his record-breаking 10-year, $700 million contract by the Los Angeles Dodgers demonstrated his value to the team. This deal is the most lucrative one in the history of professional sports.

But he’s surprisingly modest for a player who in 2017 was attracting interest from every MLB club. Ohtani expressed his concerns about his playing abilities in Jay Paris’s book Shohei Ohtani: The Amazing Story of Baseball’s Two-Way Japanese Superstar.

“I am not a complete player yet, and I want to go to an environment where I can continue to get better,” said Ohtani.

The major leagues were Ohtani’s dream because they were home to the world’s top players and he could grow as a player there. This is the main reason behind his decision to join the Los Angeles Angels. He was saddened by a decision, according to several of his fans.

After finishing high school, I had similar feelings. Plus, it’s the main reason I want to go right now, Ohtani said.

Everyone may take a cue from Ohtani’s work ethic. He became the sport’s public face in a relatively short period of time thanks to his long history of hard work and devotion.
