Top picks for American League Most Valuable Player in 2024: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto

Although the NFL playoffs have already begun, this is the best time of year to gаmble on baseball futures.

The early odds for the MLB award winners of 2024 were just posted by FanDuel Sportsbook.

The American League MVP odds currently have two New York-based players, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, at the top.

According to FanDuel, the leading prospects for the prize are Judge (+550) and Soto (+600).

Odds better than 8/1 are only available for these two players, who are followed by Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (+900) and Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (+800).

Judge and Soto, two of the top hitters of the last five years, will be joining forces in the Bronx Bombers’ lineup this season, creating a formidable duo.

Despite missing over two months of action due to a toe ιnjury, Judge had another stellar season in 2023, following up his historic MVP performance in 2022.

In only 106 games, he managed a 1.019 OPS and blasted 37 home runs.

Just like Soto, he had a tremendous season.

With 162 games played with the Padres, the left-handed batter led the majors with 132 walks, won a Silver batter, and was nominated for sixth place in the National League MVP vote.

In his six-year career, Soto has made it to the National League MVP voting four times, but he has never won the trophy.

The Yankees will require a significantly stronger team performance in the playoffs if one of them hopes to be named American League MVP in 2024.

With an 82–80 record in 2023, the Yankees failed to make the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Their 1992 season record of 76-86 was their lowest since that year.

Bettors are anticipating a return to form from the Pinstripes this season following the acquisitions of Soto, Alex Verdugo, and Marcus Stroman.

The Yankees’ preseason victory total of 93.5 puts them third in the majors, behind the Braves (100.5) and the Dodgers (104.5), and they are the best in the American League.

Not only that, but they’re the third-longest underdogs to win the World Series (+800) and the American League (+410) respectively.
