After adding arms to their starting rotation last week, the New York Yankees are supposedly seeking to strengthen their bullpen as the start of 2024 Spring Training draws near.

Recent rumors have them interested in Robert Stephenson and Hector Neris in addition to being heavy favorites to land free agent Josh Hader. Stephenson and Neris are two veteran relievers who the Yankees might add to their bullpen if they are unable to get Hader.

Josh Hader is still the top pick of the New York Yankees executive office as they turn their attention to the bullpen with the signing of Marcus Stroman. Both the player’s asking price and the amount of competition from other teams are significant, so they may end up choosing one of the other two possibilities. However, they will be adding to their bullpen soon.

After signing with the Cincinnati Reds in 2016, Robert Stephenson went on to play for three different MLB clubs. He had a 2.35 ERA in the second half of the season after moving to the Tampa Bay Rays last year, and he was outstanding, striking out 60 batters and walking only eight in 38.1 innings.

Hector Neris has also been playing in the majors since 2014, spending a long time with the Phillies before the 2022 World Series-winning Houston Astros signed him.

The Dominican just had his greatest season ever, appearing in 71 games and producing an impressive 1.71 ERA and 1.05 WҺIP.

Even though the New York Yankees added pitcher Marcus Stroman to their roster, they are still anticipated to add a star to their bullpen.

On Wednesday, they added a minor league bat with MLB experience to their roster while they continue their quest for a reliever.

Josh VanMeter, a utility player, has inked a minor league deal with the Yankees. With the Reds, Diamondbacks, and Pirates, the 28-year-old has played in 300 games in the major leagues.
