Formerly listed at $100 million, Shohei Ohtani’s megamansion in Los Angeles is now ‘priced to sell’

A massive mansion in the City of Angels is back on the market and even more affordable than before.

The original asking price of $100 million has been lowered to $59 million for the expansive trophy mansion.

The expansive Bel Air spec mansion has changed hands, not only in price but also in listing agents and rebranded as the Somma Estate.

“Realistically in this market, this is what it’s worth, it’s priced to sell,” stated Shawn Elliott of Nest Seekers, who, along with David Parnes of the Bond Collective at The Agency and Branden Williams of Williams & Williams, brought the home to the market last week.

Indeed, rival parties may ultimately drive the final sale price higher than that ask, given that this figure is “slightly below market value,” according to Mr. Elliott.

The over 41,000 square foot mansion, which is set to be completed in 2020, is one of the biggest “amenity-driven, ultra-luxury properties on the market,” he further stated.

The mansion boasts a health center with an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, salon, and fitness studio in addition to eight bedrooms, twenty-one bathrooms, a 36-person theater, and the second-largest residence on the market in Los Angeles.

“You never have to leave the house when you have a world-class spa,” Mr. Elliott remarked. A hair salon, nail salon, and pedicure parlor are all at your disposal. You’re never going anywhere.

In addition, there are six bars, a wine cellar with 1,200 bottles and a tasting area, a recording studio, and an auto-gallery that can accommodate 20 cars (with the possibility of adding another 20).

“A full indoor NBA-approval indoor basketball court” is another unusual feature of the house, as most luxury homes only have half courts, Mr. Elliott said.

The inside isn’t the only place you may find the luxuries. The verdant exterior features several terraces, a spa with an infinity edge, a kitchen, and a massive outdoor television.

Mr. Elliott maintains that the home’s approach is equally lovely. He went on to sаy, “I think the ‘wow factor’ is there,'” referring to the recently landscaped and redesigned property that he had acquired with the adjacent property.

It appears in the listing records that the house was listed twice with the identical price tag: once in May of 2020 and again in 2018 (before to completion) for $100 million. Its most recent listing was in 2021, for $78 million.

The property’s developer, Westside Property Group, is reportedly selling the house.
