The MLB career of Carlos Rodon

Carlos Rodon was taken by the Chicago White Sox with the third overall pick in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft. He played collegiate baseball at North Carolina State. His major league debut was on April 21, 2015, when he allowed two runs in 2.1 innings of baseball.

On April 14, 2021, against the Cleveland Indians, Rodon threw the 20th no-hitter for the White Sox. Rodon joined the San Francisco Giants in free agency after that season and signed a two-year, $44 million deal. But he tried free agency once again in November 2022, opting out of the second year of his contract.

The New York Yankees and Rodon inked a $162 million, six-year deal on December 21, 2022.

His left forearm muscle strain and subsequent back discomfort put him on the injured list in 2023. He made his comeback and Yankees debut on July 7, 2023. After making just 14 appearances in his first season, he went 3-8 with a 6.85 ERA and 64 strikeouts.
