Herro scores 28 points in Heat victory over Magic

On Wednesday night, the Miami Heat defeated the Orlando Magic 115-106 thanks to 28 points, 8 boards, and 7 assists from Tyler Herro.

Miami, led by Bam Adebayo’s 18 points and seven boards, won their fourth game in six games thanks to a 32-point second-quarter burst.

In his tenth game of the year, Herro shot ten for seventeen from the floor. On three-point shots, he was perfect.

In his words, Herro felt that his level of comfort would increase in proportion to the number of games he played. Midseason form is still elusive for me. In other words, I’d like to claim that I can take it to a higher level.

A season-high 15 points were scored by Haywood Highsmith, who was one of four Miami bench players to reach double digits. Highsmith also converted four of the Heat’s fifteen 3-point attempts.

The bench played a huge role in the victory, according to coach Erik Spoelstra. “Most of the game and the second quarter were completed by them.”

Due to Jimmy Butler’s strained left calf and Kevin Love’s sickness, Miami was unable to field a full roster.

The Magic were led by Cole Anthony, who scored 20 points. Paolo Banchero contributed ten points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Franz Wagner chipped in fifteen points on two-of-12 shooting.

Center Wendell Carter Jr. of the Orlando Magic made his comeback to the lineup following a 20-game absence due to a broken left hand. In the last seconds of the Magic’s November 2nd game, he suffered an ιnjury.

Carter logged 23 minutes of action and contributed 8 points and 6 boards.

The Heat converted all twelve of their first-half field goal attempts, with Highsmith converting two 3-pointers and Herro, Duncan Robinson, and Josh Richardson each making one. Miami took a commanding lead of 58-40 after a 17-0 run that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Highsmith.

It was that stretch, says Anthony, that sealed the deal for the Magic.

“Our defense failed to recover. He lamented that they made them suffer for their incessant franticness. We must mature together. After a successful run, we’ve encountered several difficulties. We can’t put ourselves in such a precarious position and hope to recover. Defeating ourselves is what we’re doing here.

Despite committing just three turnovers in the first half, Miami stormed back in the second quarter, making eight of twelve three-point attempts.

We’re not happy about it. Magic coach Jamahl Mosley expressed his team’s disappointment during their first three-game losing streak this season. “Recognize Miami’s efforts, but our team is capable of much more, and we must take full responsibility for our actions.”
