Aaron Judge could be available if the New York Yankees trade for Cody Bellinger

Outfielders Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo are two of the most talked-about new additions to the New York Yankees’ roster this offseason, and the team has been among the most active in MLB free agency overall.

Among the teams interested in Bellinger are the Blue Jays, Giants, and Yankees.

Cody Bellinger, a seasoned outfielder and first baseman, is now a free agent after declining a qualifying offer from the Chicago Cubs. However, it appears that they are still interested in adding another player to that position and would make every effort to sign him.

An individual named Will Leitch claims that the Yankees are interested in granting Aaron Judge additional playing time. Given the recent trades for Soto and Alex Verdugo, it appears like there’s no room for Bellinger in the Yankees’ starting lineup. However, many still doubt that Verdugo will be the starting left fielder for the entire 2024 season.

If the Yankees signed Bellinger, Aaron Judge could play second base instead of center, and the Bronx would once again have the kind of booming, All-Star outfield we’ve come to expect. Certainly, they would need to involve Verdugo in some way. The Yankees have far grander ambitions for Verdugo in 2024. In addition, he mentioned that Bellinger’s dad, Clay, was a pinstripe wearer and World Series champion with the Bombers from 1999 to 2000.

In his second year as a Silver Slugger, Bellinger led the Chicago Cubs with a.307 average,.356 on-base percentage, 26 home runs, 97 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases last month.

As a contender for the injured position, Alex Verdugo had a stellar season last year, averaging.264/.324/.421 with 37 doubles, 5 triples, 13 home runs, and 54 RBIs.

It remаins to be seen if the New York Knicks are prepared to take a chance on Bellinger, their spending limit, and the terms that the 28-year-old is seeking in a contract.
