Dwyane Wade is making the most of his time with his girls!
In a sweet family update he posted on Saturday, the 41-year-old former basketball great spent time with his daughters Kaavia, 5, and Zaya, 16.
Wade appeared to be in his dressing room in one photo he shared on Instagram Story, when he and Kaavia posed for a mirror selfie.
As they sat in front of racks of clothing and shelves of sneakers, Wade wore a wide smile. Kaavia sat on his legs and made a peace sign.
In the video that followed, we saw a cute little Kaavia using the treadmill in her home gym to get her daily workout. In the caption, Wade humorously wrote, “At her own request,” and tagged the 5-year-old again.
Along with a number of happy selfies of himself and his older daughter Zaya sitting outdoors, the three-time NBA champion shared the photos on his Instagram Story.
Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union have a daughter together, Kaavia. Zaire, Zaya, and Xavier are his children from a previous marriage to Siovaughn Funches; he is also the legal guardian of Dahveon Morris, his nephew, who is 21 years old.
As he disclosed that he is a “great advisor” to his children last month, Wade discussed the meaning of “unconditional love” in his role as a father.
“We have no judgment with each other and we’ve been through a lot of things that a lot of people on the outside would deem as something that we don’t look at it as that way,” the father of five told PEOPLE. Therefore, that is how I deal with my children.
Wade went on to sаy that he wants his transgender daughter Zaya, who came out in 2020, to feel “safe” and supported by him as a father. ‘
“I don’t want to be that person who Zaya receives and then doesn’t trust or open up to me,” he went on to sаy. “I hope that by modeling unconditional love for her, I can be a support system for her as she navigates life’s challenges.”
“It seems to be reflected in Zaya,” Wade chimed in. “As a member of the trans community, Zaya embodies this throughout the world.”
Following Zaya’s disclosure of her identity, Wade reflected on his job as a father and how his work as executive producer of the Netflix documentary short The Dads—which follows five dads with trans children—helped him do just that.
