A painting by a local artist captures the City of Angels’ elation over the Dodgers’ acquisition of Shohei Ohtani, a slugger.
A liquor store in Hermosa Beach now features Ohtani’s likeness, all because to the imagination of artist Gustavo Zermeño Jr., who is based in Venice. For many years to come, this artwork will feature the new Dodgers hero facing west, directly towards the Pacific Ocean.
According to Zermeño, he had another piece in mind for the wall before hearing about Ohtani’s contract, but it sparked the idea for his current artwork.
“At first, we had planned to paint the entire Kings wall and then paint the Dodgers and Lakers on the other side of the building,” he explained to NBC4. We felt Ohtani deserved the prominent side of the wall, something a bit more noticeable from the street, when he signed.
The new artwork may be seen by baseball fans near the corner of 33rd Street and Manhattan Avenue.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ case for being the most star-studded superteam in Major League Baseball has only strengthened over the last week or two.

However, Arizona Diamondbacks main owner Ken Kendrick is at the top of the list of people who don’t appear impressed.
When аsked аbоut the оppоrtunity tо bаttle аgаinst оhtаni, Kendrick tоld repоrters оn December 13 thаt he thоught it wаs beneficiаl fоr the teаm. аs fаr аs I cаn tell, he is оne оf nine. He is а designаted hitter, аs fаr аs I cаn tell.
While it’s hаrd tо аrgue with the twо-time аL MVP’s stаtus аs аn оutstаnding bаllplаyer, Kendrick refrаined frоm prаising the versаtile tаlent.
“He’s exceptional on the field,” Kendrick remarked. Is he the promised Messiah? Not at all, in my opinion.
In the most recent regular season, Kendrick’s Diamondbacks lost to the Dodgers by a score of 16–37. However, Arizona came out on top in a three-game sweep when these two National League West rivals met in the National League Division Series this past October.
After a 22-year drought, the Diamondbacks finally won the National League pennant. But for the third year running, the Dodgers were confined to their homes to watch the Fall Classic.
“Competing against them will be a blast,” Kendrick declared. “We already did have fun competing against them, at least the last time we played.”
