In response to inquiries about the Braves’ potential interest in the highly sought-after Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani, Braves’ President of Baseball Operations, Alex Anthopoulos, refrained from explicitly dismissing the notion. However, his remarks strongly suggested that the Braves are unlikely to secure Ohtani’s services.

 

While Anthopoulos couldn’t delve into specifics regarding free-agent discussions, he did highlight the team’s satisfaction with its current roster, particularly the position player group.

 

Emphasizing the strength of their offense in the previous season, Anthopoulos revealed that the Braves had only actively pursued one position player during the offseason, securing a deal with Jarred Kelenic. Furthermore, he clarified that there have been no explorations or pursuits of other position players in any capacity at any point in time.
