Richaun Holmes and his teammates playfully teased rookie Dexter Dennis about his Christmas tree decorating skills, prompting a witty response. Dennis declared, “I’m a decorator, for sure. It’s going to be the first-ever Louis Vuitton Christmas tree.”
The entire Mavericks’ roster showcased their cookie- and tree-decorating talents for around 50 kids aged 3 through 8 from the Vogel Alcove, a respected Dallas organization dedicated to aiding children and families recovering from homelessness.
Santa Claus made a special appearance, reading “The Night Before Christmas” to the delight of everyone present.
The festive evening concluded with Luka Dončić, Grant Williams, Tim Hardaway Jr., and their teammates distributing presents for the kids to unwrap. The gifts ranged from bicycles to miniature basketball goals and various toys.
Mavericks’ CEO Cynt Marshall expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “It might be my favorite event because it brings everybody together, and it’s what we are about. It’s the season of giving.
Our players give back all the time, but to see them giving back to these honeys in this way and participating in this holiday cheer is amazing. Everybody’s smiling. The kids are smiling, the staff is smiling, the players are smiling. Everybody wants to do this.”
