Following their triumph in the league’s inaugural in-season tournament in Sin City, the Los Angeles Lakers made their return to action on Tuesday night, hitting the road to face the Dallas Mavericks.
Despite some uncertainties regarding player availability, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Luka Doncic all took the court for their respective teams.
However, Kyrie Irving and Jarred Vanderbilt were notably absent. The Lakers suffered a setback as the Mavericks secured a 127-125 victory, causing the Lakers’ season record to dip to 14-10.
In the initial minutes of the game, both teams struggled with some careless errors. After a series of missed layups, Davis managed to secure a rebound, tying the score at six.
Taurean Prince, representing the Lakers, opened the scoring with a three-pointer after the Mavericks briefly went on a 5-0 run. Unfortunately, Davis had to be benched early after accumulating his second foul.
