Miami Heat insider details how team’s rotation could change once Tyler Herro and others return

An person with knowledge of the Miami Heat recently discussed potential rotational shifts that may occur once guard Tyler Herro and others return to the lineup.

“Mainly, we shouldn’t presume who will automatically sit on the bench upon Tyler Herro’s return,” Ira Winderman noted. “It may be impossible to reproduce the spacing that Duncan Robinson offers. Furthermore, I have my doubts about the permanence of Haywood Highsmith’s position as starting power forward for the entire season. Actually, there’s a case for Jimmy Butler to go to power forward so Tyler and Duncan may start, provided Jimmy is willing to do so. Yes, Erik Spoelstra could use at least ten different parts of the puzzle. Another possibility is that Haywood’s role is reduced from starting to supporting. “Therefore, we proceed accordingly.”

More over thirty days have passed since Herro last played for the Heat. An ankle ailment kept him out of action since November 8th.

Herro had gotten off to a great start to the season, which made his extended absence all the more regrettable. In eight games played with the Heat, he has shot 44.7 percent from the field and 41.0 percent from outside the arc, while also averaging 22.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.

Robinson has capitalized on his increased playing time after receiving multiple starts when Herro was out with an ιnjury, as Winderman hinted at. Robinson has played in 20 games for the Heat this season, averaging 14.3 points and shooting 41.7% from beyond the arc on 7.0 attempts per game.

The Heat have a 12-10 record for the season, but they haven’t been playing well as of late. The Heat are coming off a disappointing 12-point defeat to Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers on December 8 and have a dismal 4-6 record over their past 10 games.

In the loss, Miami’s Kyle Lowry and Josh Richardson scored 17 points apiece, while the Cavaliers’ Mitchell scored 27 points, shooting 9 for 17 from the field. Furthermore, in just 36 minutes of action, Mitchell recorded 13 boards, 6 assists, and 1 steаl.

The Heat will be pleased to see that their next regular season schedule doesn’t appear to be particularly challenging. In their next four games, the Heat will face the Chicago Bulls twice and the Charlotte Hornets twice. The Hornets are currently 7-13 and the Bulls are 9-14.

It would be disappointing for Heat supporters if Miami couldn’t win three of their next four games. Both the Hornets and the Bulls have been terrible this season, ranking among the Eastern Conference’s weakest clubs. Neither of them is likely to make it to the playoffs.
