Miami Heat’s Caleb Martin Appears Finally Recovered From Early-Season ιnjury
Forward Caleb Martin of the Miami Heat appears to be finding his rhythm after missing the first ten games due to a knee ailment.
He scored 24 points and pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds in Wednesday’s victory over the Toronto Raptors, which was his best performance of the year. In the first half, he scored 23 points, four of which were three-pointers.
In the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics last year, he appeared to be the player who was possibly the best on the Heat.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra stated, “Once he’s gotten his legs under him and you see the quick twitch, then he fills in all the rest of the gaps.” You can see why he consistently ranks among our top X-factors. There are many things about him that you can’t really plan against.”
Since coming back, Martin has averaging 11.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He has assisted the Heat in making up for the injuries that have sidelined Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, and Jimmy Butler.
Martin’s contributions are beneficial, particularly when they come from the three-point line.
“It just gets you going,” Martin remarked. You gain easy points from it. For me, they’re momentum shots. It helps you find your groove. It’s nice to see a couple arrive early every time.”Shandel Richardson covers the Miami Heat for Sports Illustrated on Fan Nation’s Inside The Heat channel. Since 2010, he has covered the NBA.
