Yankees Could Make Sυrprising Offseason Move for Star Left Fielder

This offseason, the Yankees could need a boost in outfield depth.

The Yankees are starting again after a disappointing season in which they won only 82 games. Everyone knows that New York will be spending a ton of money this summer. The Yankees should strengthen their starting rotation, strengthen their middle infield, and add depth to their outfield.

According to SNY’s Anthony McCarron, the Mets might make a good move for outfielder Cody Bellinger this offseason in free agency. Another player who has been linked to the Mets is Charlie Blackmon, a standout for the Colorado Rockies.

“Charlie Blackmon is 37 years old and seems more likely than not to re-sign with the Rockies,” stated McCarron. However, his skills as a professional bat and his clean lefty swing make him a viable option here. In his thirteenth season, he posted a slash line of.279/.363/.440.

Despite his limited playing time last season (96 games), Blackmon might be useful to the Yankees in left field and as a designated hitter. The 37-year-old had a consistent season with 40 RBIs and a slash line of 279/.363/.440. If New York could get him for a good price, he may be an upgrade.
