Stephen Curry aims to erase struggle in locker room amid Warriors’ struggling streak

Even the return of Stephen Curry, after a two-game absence, couldn’t halt the Golden State Warriors’ concerning downward spiral as they suffered a heartbreaking 130-123 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.

Analyzing the recent struggles, Curry highlighted the challenges the team is facing and the urgency to address them. With six consecutive losses, the Warriors are grappling with a tough phase, missing the defensive prowess of Draymond Green and navigating through the complexities of a season.

“During this losing streak, we’ve got a little rattled,” admitted Curry. “So, we gotta figure that piece out. Missing Draymond is tough. I was out for two games. Seems like a perfect storm of everything. So, we have to maintain confidence in ourselves and our ability to figure things out. But, it’s gonna take everybody.” Despite Curry’s commendable 25-point performance in his return from a knee injury, the Warriors fell short against the Thunder, who showcased their youthful energy and athleticism.

“A losing streak like this, there’s urgency, for sure. Anytime you’re at this many in a row, it’s a problem that you’ve got to fix. And, you don’t want to develop a losing mentality at all at any stretch of the season. That’s a stink in the locker room that you don’t wanna have in there.”

The Warriors, once an NBA dynasty, are grappling with the reality of an aging core. While Curry continues to deliver MVP-level performances, his longtime teammate Klay Thompson is facing a decline, and the absence of Draymond Green adds to the challenges.

With the league catching up to their aging core, the Warriors are determined to break free from the losing streak that has overshadowed their positive start to the season. Curry remains resolute in avoiding any lingering negativity in the locker room, but the road to recovery remains a collective effort for the Warriors.
