With the retirement of his jersey number by Fresno State, Aaron Judge reflects on his time in college, saying, “There’s so many lessons I learned there”

A player of a generational caliber, Aaron Judge is among the league’s top performers. He is the type of player that signs nine-year, $360 million contracts, as he did last offseason.

There was a long road to success before Judge was recognized for who he is now. Much of that was accomplished during his three years as a player at Fresno State University (2011–2013).

He was grateful to the school for helping shape him into his successful adult self. On Saturday, the school will retire his No. 29 jersey in his honor, therefore he will be returning there this weekend.

“I learned a lot of lessons there,” the judge said, according to Jesus Cano. “Whether it’s from my teammates, coach Batesole, or the Red Wave, the community that loves and supports us so much.”

Fresno State is very important to Aaron Judge. He might not be in his current position if it weren’t for them. He receives a lot of support from the community, since his ceremony has sold out.

Judge subsequently stated:”Those three years I spent at Fresno State to mature as a player on the field — [and] as an individual and a young man off the field — shaped and prepared me for this next jump inyo [playing] pro baseball for the New York Yankees.”

When Judge won the College Home Run Derby, he became the first player from Fresno State to do so. Additionally, during his leadership, the Bulldogs won two conference titles. He definitely had a terrific collegiate career.

In 2024, the whole baseball world will be watching Aaron Judge and the Yankees.

For the first time since 2016, the New York Yankees failed to make it to the postseason in their terrible 2023 season. Their regular season record was 82–80, which nearly put them last in the American League East.

This squad will be the center of attention as the 2024 season approaches. With no trip to the World Series in the last several years, the faithful are getting impatient and want to see their club win it all again.

Aaron Judge must remain healthy for this crucial season. When he went on the injured list with a ruptured ligament in his toe, the season was almost over. While he watched from the sidelines, no one else took the initiative to help out.
