According to Coach Steve Kerr, “He’s feeling significantly better, and he completed the entire practice. I believe there’s a good chance he’ll be on the court tomorrow (November 18 against the Oklahoma City Thunder).”
Curry suffered a knee injury in the second half of the Warriors’ November 12 match against the Minnesota Timberwolves, stemming from a hard fall. Thankfully, the MRI results indicated no structural damage, bringing relief to both Curry and the Warriors organization.
In Curry’s absence over the subsequent two games, the Warriors encountered offensive struggles, notably impacting his Splash Brother, Klay Thompson. The game against the Thunder on November 16 witnessed Thompson enduring the second-worst shooting performance of his career, managing only five points on 1-of-10 shooting.
With Curry’s potential return looming, expectations are high for an injection of vitality into the Warriors’ offense, which has struggled, averaging just 105 points on 41.3% shooting in his absence. The two-time MVP has been in exceptional form this season, boasting averages of 30.7 points on 48.8% shooting, including an impressive 44.6% from beyond the arc. If Curry rejoins the lineup, Chris Paul, who filled in during Curry’s absence, is expected to revert to his role with the second unit.
The Warriors, grappling with a season-high five-game losing streak, are optimistic that Curry’s return will not only bolster their offensive capabilities but also provide the much-needed momentum to break their current slump.
