On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 1:10 p.m. PT, the Los Angeles Dodgers will play their home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals at Dodger Stadium.
It’s the Dodgers’ second planned game as the home team, despite being their first in the United States and at Dodger Stadium for the 2024 season. In South Korea, the Dodgers will take on the San Diego Padres to start the season.
On Wednesday, March 20, the two teams will play their first game of the season in Seoul, with the Padres serving as the home team. Opening Day’s first pitch is set for 3:05 a.m. PT, or 7:07 p.m. in South Korea.
The next day, the Dodgers take on the opposition in the second and final game of the first-round series. The game’s start time has not yet been disclosed.
When the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners played in the Tokyo Series in 2019, Opening Day of an MLB season was last held outside of the United States and Canada.
The Dodgers and Padres’ home stadium has not yet been revealed, but Jamsil Baseball Stadium, which can hold 25,000 spectators, is the biggest arena in South Korea and was inaugurated in 1982.
Changwon NC Park, South Korea’s newest baseball stadium, opened its doors in 2019 and can accommodate 22,112.
The Dodgers play the Cardinals in three more games starting at 7:10, 6:10, and 1:10 p.m. on March 28, following the opening day of Dodger Stadium.
After hosting the Giants for three games, Los Angeles will go on their first road trip of the season, starting with a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs starting at 11:20 a.m. PT on Friday, April 5, and ending on Sunday, April 7.
The Dodgers also have two midweek afternoon starts at home against the Washington Nationals on April 17 and the Miami Marlins on May 8. Both openers are scheduled for Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. PT.
