Shohei Ohtani ‘loves’ Boston, and he has fondness for Fenway Park

Shohei Ohtani’s impending free agency is the single most important event of the MLB summer. Boston baseball fans would likely approve of the Red Sox going into debt to get the franchise player.

Ohtani reportedly has no objections about signing with the Red Sox.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Jeff Passan dove more into the Ohtani controversy. While it has been reported this year that Ohtani is interested in playing in Boston because of its proximity to the New Balance headquarters, Passan pointed out that the 29-year-old is interested in the city for other reasons as well.

“[Ohtani] loves visiting Boston and has a fondness for Fenway Park,” stated Passan.

According to Passan’s sources, the Ohtani sweepstakes will include the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Texas Rangers, and the Boston Red Sox. Despite the belief that he will sign with the Dodgers, this line of thinking may be overly optimistic.
