The absence of Neemias Queta due to injury exacerbates this issue. Trade targets like Precious Achiuwa and Jalen Duren are being considered to address this gap.

 

Precious Achiuwa, a Toronto Raptors big man, brings valuable skills to the Celtics’ system. Despite not requiring extensive minutes or dominating the stat sheet, Achiuwa significantly contributes to offense setup, screens, and second-chance opportunities. Collaborating effectively with Dennis Schroder, he adds a reliable 6.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Achiuwa’s versatility is highlighted by his open-shot taking, driving to the rim, and displaying noteworthy playmaking and court vision with an average of two assists per game.

 

Jalen Duren emerges as a strategic addition for the Celtics, contributing to both current success and future prospects. Recognizing that the current lineup of big men might face challenges due to aging or escalating costs, acquiring a young center like Duren becomes crucial.
