The Texas Rangers, the defending World Series champions, will debut on ESPN in 2024

The 2024 MLB season will begin with a game between the Chicago Cubs and the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers. On Thursday, March 28, ESPN will televise this game across the country.

ESPN announced on Monday that they will be televising the first game of the season. This game would be telecast on ESPN; it was first confirmed when the schedule was made public.

For their third season together, Karl Ravech, reporters Buster Olney and Eduardo Pérez, and analysts David Cone and Eduardo Pérez will return to ESPN Sunday Night Baseball to cover and commentate on the game.

Baseball Tonight on ESPN will include the World Series Championship pregame celebration in addition to live game coverage. Before the game starts, fans can tune in to see the celebrations and pay tribute to the current champs.
