Garvey hit 312/.342/.469 in 155 games with 21 home runs and 111 RBI. He also won his first of four Gold Gloves and was named an All-Star for the first time. That year, the Dodgers took home the NL pennant before losing to the Oakland Athletics in the World Series.

Garvey ended up spending 14 of his 19 major league seasons with the Dodgers, and during that time he was named an eight-time All-Star. Throughout his career, he was chosen for two further Midsummer Classics for 10.

In 1981, he and the Dodgers overcame adversity to win the pennant, solidifying Garvey’s legacy as one of the greatest franchise players ever.

On November 13, 2003, Dodgers closer Eric Gagne also became the eighth reliever in Major League history to win the NL Cy Young Award, surpassing Jason Schmidt in the process.

In 77 games, Gagne converted all 55 of his save opportunities, and he finished with 137 strikeouts and 20 walks in 82.1 innings, registering a 1.20 ERA, 0.86 FIP, and 0.69 WHIP. It was an incredible season for Gagne.

Gagne has the MLB record with 84 straight saves for the Dodgers from 2002 to 2004. After being moved from starter to closer in his eight seasons with the franchise, he was named an All-Star three times.

MVP is Clayton Kershaw.

In terms of honours, November 13 has great significance for the Dodgers because it was on this day in 2014 that Clayton Kershaw won the National League MVP award, becoming the first pitcher to do so since Bob Gibson of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1968.

After finishing 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA, 1.81 FIP, 0.86 WHIP, 239 strikeouts, and 31 walks in 198.1 innings across 27 starts, Kershaw was also awarded the NL Cy Young in 2014.

In addition to being second in 2012, Kershaw won three of the four National League Cy Young Awards from 2011 to 2014, solidifying his status as one of the greatest pitchers of all time.

After spending 13 seasons with the Dodgers, Kershaw has earned five ERA championships, a Gold Glove, and eight All-Star selections.

Despite his poor postseason performance, he helped the Dodgers win their first World Series since 1988 in 2020 because of an incredible October.

But Cody Bellinger was the most recent Dodger to win an MVP; he did it in 2019. Kershaw is not the most recent to do so.
