Shohei Ohtani, the highly sought-after free agent and two-way sensation, is gifting roughly 60,000 baseball gloves to elementary schools in Japan.

Ohtani, a free agent who played for the Los Angeles Angels for the previous six seasons, said on Instagram on Wednesday that he will be giving the kid’s gloves to Japanese schools.

Ohtani’s business partner New Balance is the source of the gloves he is giving out.

Ohtani, 29, recently finished a season in which he batted.304 with 44 home runs and a 10.5-2 record with a 3.14 ERA in the mound. For the second time in six years, he underwent Tommy John surgery in September.
