Who Is Ron Washington? All You Need To Know About New Angels Head Coach

On Wednesday, The Los Angeles Angels hired Ron Washington to be their new manager, with their performance in the past years, the veteran will bring some win.

Washington becomes the 23rd manager in Angels history and their fourth since the Mike Scioscia era after an interview on Tuesday night at Arizona.

Veteran manager Washington led the Texas Rangers to consecutive American League championships in 2010 and 2011, winning 664 games over his tenure from 2007 to 2014.

He left the Rangers in 2014 for personal reasons, and he rejoined the Athletics as a coach for the 2015 campaign. After that, in 2017, he became a third-base coach for the Braves, where he assisted in Atlanta’s 2021 World Series victory.

Prior to the rumors spreading as Angel’s new boss. During the 2022 All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium, Washington expressed his desire to manage once more, regardless of the situation of any potential teams that could require his services.

Phil Nevin, who was not re-signed last month following his 11/2 losing seasons as manager of the long-struggling Angels, will be replaced by Washington.
